It looks increasingly likely that there will be more violence in Ferguson, Missouri — and with an announcement about Officer Darren Wilson’s indictment due very soon, both protesters and law enforcement are on edge.
The grand jury decision on whether or not to send Darren Wilson to trial could easily spark new riots in the battered city.
Ferguson has faced a slew of demonstrations after Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown in August.
Now, one Ferguson police officer is giving chilling but vital advice to people in Missouri. “If you do not have a gun, get one and get one soon,” wrote the unnamed officer on an Internet forum called “St. Louis Coptalk.”
“We will not be able to protect you or your family,” the anonymous officer continued. “It will be your responsibility to protect them. Our gutless commanders and politicians have neutered us. I’m serious, get a gun, get more than one, and keep one with you at all times.”
It has not been confirmed that the person posting this warning is indeed a Ferguson officer; however, the Coptalk forum is often used for discussion by members of law enforcement.
That ominous message from this officer is one of several warnings that have recently come from law enforcement.
According to The Blaze, the Federal Bureau of Investigation recently issued a report which warned that the grand jury decision “will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure.”
The FBI message went on to say: “This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.”
The warning is clear and should be considered by all Americans. When events such as race riots occur, police admit that they are not able to protect everybody.
A high number of law enforcement officers support the right to bear arms for this very reason, and understand that guns are tools that can be used to protect innocent people.
Self defense is the right and responsibility of every citizen — and the Second Amendment was never meant to be about hunting.
It was included in the Bill of Rights to allow law-abiding Americans to protect themselves and their families in times of crisis.
Please share this warning on Facebook and Twitter if you want the law-abiding citizens of Ferguson to be able to defend themselves.
